Personality: Once upon a time, he was rather fierce, willing to shed blood and conquered many areas of the surrounding Baltic Sea. However he has learned to calm down, and stays out of any military affairs. It still hasn't helped the intimidating air around him dissipate, and even though he has a playful side somewhere in there and a love for furniture and art, people usually don't get to know him past his icy exterior to understand that.

Extras: He has a bit of a fatherly complex towards smaller nations, whether it historically has been Finland, Estonia, Latvia or even Sealand. Although he tends to think because they seem weaker, they're thankful for his guardianship, he's not often told he's mistaken because they're too intimidated. There hasn't been many things he's tried to get before that he's been unsuccessful at, Norway being the only main one. However, he does hold faith in those around him that he used to tend to such as Finland, which is why he'll even stay out of wars they wage. He's quite scientifically minded as well.

So this was how it would end. His empire, brought down by none other than Ivan. Berwald clenched his gloved fist, his intimidating glare surveying the wintry landscape ahead of him. The cold air was stabbing his lungs, and he could no longer even feel his own skin through the frigid air.

The blood of too many of his countrymen had been spilled over the past few decades alone. Maybe now it would end. Maybe the end of his empire could just mean the start of a new, calmer life...

When he returned back home, to no one else there... It was the first time in centuries he had been left alone. Berwald went to bed, still able to smell the faint traces of a Finnish man on his pillows...

“T'morrow. Get 'm back then...”
